RelayHealth:ePrescribing and Communication

The RelayHealth service through Hill Physicians provides an online way of writing and refilling prescriptions, viewing lab results, handling referrals to colleagues and managing one-on-one and group communications with patients.  Although the service is free, it provides additional revenue opportunities from CMS’s ePrescribing incentives as well as from patient WebVisits, which are covered by several major insurers. This fully secured system is accessible through Hill inSite and all customization, setup and maintenance is done through Hill Physicians’ partnership with RelayHealth.

Here's more detail about what you can do:

 

  • ePrescribing: How much time do you and your staff spend on writing new scripts and authorizing refills?  The eScript module cuts down on the phone calls and faxes. Patients can request refills online and you can order and authorize prescriptions electronically.  Any contraindications are flagged automatically, before the order goes to the pharmacy.  In addition to being easier, ePrescribing can generate additional practice revenue through a 2% incentive from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
  • Online Lab Results: Many lab results can be sent to you electronically, for less clutter in the office and more flexibility in how you share results with your patient.  Patients often worry when lab results are run.  The RelayHealth service gives you the ability to forward those results to the patient, reducing unnecessary anxiety due to waiting for negative test results.
  • eReferrals: Referrals are one of the routine tasks made easier through RelayHealth.  Send and receive referrals along with patient documentation for more accuracy in communications and more satisfaction from patients.
  • Appointment Requests/Cancellations: Cut down on call volume during office hours and reduce the number of unclear messages left with your answering service by receiving appointment requests and cancellations online.  Best of all, the office staff can send automated electronic appointment reminders to reduce the number of no-shows.
  • Routine Patient Communications:  Patients have gotten used to sending emails for routine correspondence.  In fact, it’s one of the capabilities they look for when selecting a doctor, which is why Hill Physicians has begun identifying practices that provide this service in the provider directory.  This form of non-urgent communication is not only consumer friendly, but also practice friendly since it cuts down on call volume. 
  • Broadcast Messages: Touch base with your patients who use the RelayHealth service through the broadcast feature.  This is an efficient way to provide seasonal care or preventive care reminders, newsletters, or news from your practice.
  • WebVisit: Blue Shield, HealthNet, Anthem Blue Cross, CIGNA and Aetna will reimburse for a WebVisit.  The WebVisit starts with the patient providing structured details on their condition or symptoms before a live one-on-one online discussion.  if a prescription is necessary, it’s easy to authorize one online.  If you determine an in-person examination is preferred, one can be scheduled.

Registering to Use RelayHealth

If you are a Hill Physicians primary care provider, you are already registered.  Contact Practice Support for information on your next step or consult our training opportunities. Mid-level practitioners should complete the provider registration form.  Office staff should complete the staff registration form.

Online Training

You simply sign-on at the scheduled time and follow along while the RelayHealth experts walk you through the application. To register for RelayHealth training go to www.relayhealthevents.com/home.

Telephone Training

We'll set up a time for your staff and walk through the steps over the phone.  Contact your Practice Support Advisor to schedule

In-office, Onsite Training
