Seeing a Medical Oncologist Before Surgery
After your diagnosis, you should be referred to an oncologist. All Hill Physicians surgeons must refer all patients recently diagnosed with breast cancer to a medical oncologist to discuss treatment options. We strongly urge you to use this referral after your surgery to help you make decisions about adjuvant treatment and genetic testing. You also can visit the oncologist before surgery if you are having trouble weighing your treatment options. Ask your surgeon for this referral if he or she does not offer it to you.
Stress Management Resources
Studies show that using guided imagery regularly can improve immune cell function, help with sleep, reduce stress and increase feelings of control in the face of health challenges. Browse our library of audio Relaxation Podcasts which include several 5-10 minute guided imagery experiences.
