Robert T. Wendel, MD

Robert T. Wendel, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist who joined Hill Physicians in 1993. He joined the Hill board in 2011 and serves as specialty chief in ophthalmology. Dr. Wendel completed his ophthalmology residence at The University of California Davis Medical Center and participated as a Fellow in retinal diseases and surgery at Barnes Hospital, Washington University in St. Louis. Upon completing retinal training, he returned to Sacramento and joined Retinal Consultants where he has been in practice since 1985. Rob is past program director and president of the ALTA California Ophthalmology Association, has served on the Board of Directors of the American Society of Retina Specialists, and received the Honor Award from the American Society of Retina Specialists in 1997.
